Non-Personally Identifiable Information

When your computer contacts our Web servers (for example, when you visit this Web Site or view an HTML e-mail), our Web servers may automatically collect Web site usage information. Web site usage information is non-identifying information that describes how our visitors use and navigate the Web Site. It includes the number and frequency of visitors to each Web page and the length of their stays, browser type, referrer data that identifies the Web page visited prior and subsequent to visiting the Web Site, and IP addresses (see below for more information on IP addresses).

We also may determine the applicable technology available in order to serve you the most appropriate version of a Web page, e-mail or similar service. The Foundation may disclose non-identifying, aggregated user statistics to third parties for a variety of purposes, including describing the Foundation’s services to prospective partners and other third parties.  We may also take your PII and make it non-personally identifiable, either by combining it with information about other individuals or by removing characteristics (such as your name) that make the information personally identifiable to you de-personalizing your information.

Given the nature of this information, there are no restrictions under this Privacy Policy upon our right to aggregate or de-personalize your PII, and we may use and/or share with third parties the resulting non-personally identifiable information in any way. Your PII may also be shared with a prospective purchaser who is seeking to purchase any of our assets , including, but not limited to, the PII provided by users of the Web Site, or to acquire an ownership interest in us or the Web Site.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you from other sources; for example, we may receive information from a marketing partner in connection with a co-branded website or promotion. We may use this information for a variety of purposes, including to enhance our ability to serve you and to tailor content and ads we serve to you.

We may combine the information we receive from those other sources with information we collect through the Web Site. In those cases, we will apply this Privacy Policy to any PII received, unless otherwise specifically disclosed by us at the time you provide your PII. We may also request that other sources, such as advertisers, provide us with information indicating how our users responded to advertisements on the Web Site in order to allow us to measure the effectiveness and quality of advertisements on the Web Site. See below for further details on such.

Information We Collect As You Access And Use The Web Site

We may receive and store certain types of Web Site usage information whenever you visit or interact with the Web Site. For example, we and our third party service providers may collect the page served, the time, the source of the request, the type of browser making the request, the preceding page view and other similar information. We may also collect your IP address or some other unique identifier for the particular device you use to access the Internet, as applicable (collectively referred to herein as a “Device Identifier”).

A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer, your cell phone, or other device used to access the Internet (each, a “Device”), and our computers identify your Device by its Device Identifier. When analyzed, web site usage information helps us determine how our site is used, such as what types of visitors arrive at the Web Site, and what type of content is most popular. We may associate your Device Identifier or web site usage information with the PII you provide, but we will treat the combined information as PII.  When you access other web sites, by clicking on links on our Web Site, we are not responsible or liable, in any way, for the privacy policies, or lack thereof, of other web sites. You are strongly encouraged to read the privacy policies of all web sites you visit.  Web Site usage information may be collected using various methods, such Cookies, Web Beacons.

Embedded Scripts, and IP Addresses

Use of Cookies, Web Beacons, Embedded Scripts, and IP Address: Like most Web sites, this Web Site may make use of browser “cookies.” Cookies are pieces of information that a Web site either transfers to your computer’s hard drive or stores temporarily in your computer’s memory for record-keeping purposes. We may use cookies for a number of purposes. For example, we may use cookies to track usage patterns on the Web Site or to analyze Web activity. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies, but you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.

An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer or network when you are on the Internet. When you request pages from this Web Site, our servers may log your IP address. The Foundation may use IP addresses for a number of purposes, such as system administration, to report aggregate information to our business partners or to audit the use of the Web Site. Our Web pages or e-mail messages may contain a small graphic image called a Web beacon, which is sometimes also called a “clear gif”, that allows us to monitor and collect certain limited information about our users, such as the type of browser requesting the Web beacon, the IP address of the computer that the Web beacon is sent to and the time the Web beacon was viewed.

Web beacons can be very small and invisible to the user, but, in general, any electronic image viewed as part of a Web page or e-mail, including HTML based content, can act as a Web beacon. The Foundation may use Web beacons to count visitors to our Web pages or to monitor how our users navigate the Web Site, and we may include Web beacons in e-mail messages in order to count how many messages we sent were actually opened or acted upon. The Foundation may use Web beacons to compile aggregate statistics about the Web Site; the Foundation does not link the information collected by its Web beacons to the PII you provide the Web Site.

An embedded script is programming code that is designed to collect information about your interactions with the Web Site, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily downloaded onto your Device from our Web server or a third party service provider, is active only while you are connected to the Web Site, and is deactivated or deleted thereafter.

With Whom Information May Be Shared

We may share your PII with affiliates and third parties for those affiliates and third parties’ advertising, marketing, publicity, promotional, and other business purposes, unless you opt-out to such sharing at the point of submission of your PII or at any other time by written request. We may also share non-personal information, such as aggregate user statistics, demographic information, and web site usage information with third parties. In addition, we may share your information as disclosed at the time you provide your information, as set forth in this Privacy Policy and in the following circumstances:

Third Parties Providing Services On Our Behalf

We employ third parties to perform functions on our behalf; examples include hosting or operating the Web Site, sending e-mail and/or other communications, providing wireless services, removing repetitive information from customer lists, data analysis, marketing assistance, and customer service. These third parties may have access to your PII for the purpose of performing such functions on the Web Site’s behalf.

Receiving Information From Third Parties

You may be presented with an opportunity to receive information and/or marketing offers from third party(s). If your PII is shared with any affiliate or third party, then you will be subject to the privacy policy and practices of such affiliate or third party. We are not responsible or liable, in any way, for the privacy policies and practices of such affiliates or third partyies and, therefore, you should review the privacy policies and practices of such. If you later decide that you no longer want to receive communication from a third party, you will need to contact that third party directly.

Business Transfers

We may share your PII with other entities affiliated with us for internal reasons, such as for business and operational purposes. We or any of our assets, including, but not limited to the Web Site, may be sold, or other transactions may occur in which your PII is one of the business assets for the transaction. In such a case, your PII may be one of the business assets we transfer. Hence, we reserve the right to disclose and transfer user information, including PII (i) to an affiliate or third party, (ii) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of the Web Site or applicable database, or (iii) in connection with a corporate transaction, including, but not limited to, a merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of all or any portion of our stock and/or assets, or other corporate transaction including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process.

Legal Protections and Law Enforcement

We may disclose information about our users, including your PII, in the event we are required to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal process or other valid law enforcement measures; to comply with a legal obligation; at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing the Web Site and applicable laws; or to protect the legal rights, interests, or safety of the Web Site, our users or others. We may also use Device Identifiers, including IP addresses, to identify users, and may do so in cooperation with copyright owners, internet service providers, wireless service providers or law enforcement agencies in our discretion. Such disclosures may be carried out without notice to you.

When You Make a Donation

When you make a payment through our Web Site, you provide us with certain information to assist in the processing of such payments. We share such information with those third parties necessary to complete the transaction.

Third-Party Ad Serving and Audience and Traffic Measurement Services

The Web Site may use third party network advertisers to serve advertisements on the Web Site and may use a traffic measurement service to analyze traffic on the Web Site. Network advertisers are third parties that display advertisements based on your visits to the Web Site and other web sites you have visited. Third-party ad serving enables us to target advertisements to you for products and services in which you might be interested. Although advertisers and other companies do not have access to cookies set by the Web Site, the Web Site’s third party ad network providers, the advertisers, the sponsors, and/or traffic measurement services may themselves set and access their own cookies on your Device if you choose to have cookies enabled in your browser or they may otherwise have access to non-personal information. These third party cookies are set to, among other things, help deliver advertisements to you that you might be interested in, to prevent you from seeing the same advertisements too many times and to conduct research regarding the usefulness of certain advertisements to you. Note that any images (or any other parts of a web page) served by third parties in association with third party cookies may serve as web beacons, which enable third parties to carry out the previously described activities. Third party cookies and web beacons are governed by each third party’s specific privacy policy, not this one.

Links

When you are on the Web Site or viewing an e-mail provided by the Foundation or the Web Site, you could be directed to third party Web pages through links, which may include the Foundation’s logo as part of a co-branding agreement. If you “click” on the link, the “click” takes you outside the Foundation’s service to third party Web pages that are beyond the Foundation’s control. These other Web sites may set their own cookies, collect data, solicit PII and have their own privacy policies.  If you visit a web site that is linked from our Web Site, we strongly encourage you to consult that web site’s privacy policy before providing any PII. We are not responsible or liable, in any way, for the privacy practices employed by any third party or other web site.

Consent to Transfer

This Web Site is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada or elsewhere outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using the Web Site or providing us with your PII, you consent to this transfer, processing and storing of information in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country were you reside and/or are a citizen.

Security

We incorporate commercially reasonable safeguards to help protect and secure your PII. However, no data transmission over the Internet, or wireless transmission, or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please note that we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you submit via the Web Site, and you do so at your own risk. Please report any suspected security violations to us through our Web Site.

Privacy Policy Changes

By using this Web Site, you accept our privacy practices, as outlined in this Privacy Policy. The Foundation reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back from time to time. However, the Foundation will use your PII in a manner consistent with the Privacy Policy in effect at the time you submitted your PII, unless you give us your consent.
